Railroad Work

The L.C. Whitford Co., Inc. (LCW) has performed a significant number of railroad projects every year for over a decade. This expanding market has included not only dozens of bridge projects, but also demolition, tunnel, retaining wall and railroad car guaging station projects as well. The work on these projects has included structural steel repair, concrete removal and replacement, piling, underwater work, epoxy injection, jacking and bearing replacements and total bridge removal and replacements. LCW has become very adept at handling the unique challenges that are part of almost every railroad project.

LCW has completed projects for Norfolk Southern, B&P Railroad, Genesee & Wyoming, Shawmut Pittsburgh, Allegheny Valley Railroad, New Hampshire Railroad, North Carolina Railroad and others. Since entering the railroad arena, LCW has performed projects in New York, Pennsylvania, Ohio, New Hampshire, Kentucky, Tennesee, Virginia, West Virginia, Georgia, North Carolina, South Carolina, New Jersey and Maryland and has looked at projects in Alabama, Delaware, Indiana, Illinois, and Missouri.
